Elon Musk's father, Errol Musk, has been accused of child sexual abuse, as revealed by a New York Times investigation.

The report alleges that the now 79-year-old businessman has sexually abused five of his children and stepchildren since 1993.

The investigation suggests that these allegations are a major factor contributing to Elon's tense relationship with his father.

Reportedly, relatives have reached out to the Tesla CEO, 54, for assistance, and he 'has occasionally intervened'.

In response to inquiries from The NY Times, Errol allegedly stated 'the reports are utterly false and nonsensical'.

He further claimed that the 'accusations were fabricated by family members who were “coaching the children to say false things” and that they were attempting to extort money from Elon Musk'.

According to the report, Errol also allegedly claimed to be aware of just one abuse allegation, yet in the same message offered explanations regarding two others.

He added that he maintains a good relationship with his son Elon and that they 'are very close'.

Meanwhile, Elon and his personal lawyer reportedly did not respond to the publication's request for comments.

The NY Times has cited personal letters, emails, interviews with family members, and police and court records as part of its investigation.

In 2010, one relative reportedly wrote Elon a five-page letter about the accusations, urging him to intervene - however, it remains unclear whether he ever read it.

It allegedly stated: "We truly need your advice, help, and guidance in these matters because we witness these children suffering daily."

According to the report, Errol has at least nine children and stepchildren and has been married to three women.

However, Elon has been estranged from his father for many years and has previously described him as a 'terrible human being'.

In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, discussing his father, Elon said: "You have no idea how bad it was. Almost every crime you can think of, he has committed. Almost every evil thing you could imagine, he has done."

He added: "He was such a terrible human being. You have no idea. My dad will have a meticulously planned scheme of evil. He will plan evil."

The tech mogul went on to confirm that he does not communicate with his father in a 2023 biography.
