Priscilla Presley details Elvis’ shocking behaviour after she gave birth to her daughter

Priscilla Presley has openly discussed Elvis' surprising behavior following the birth of their daughter.

The couple, who first met when Priscilla was just 14 and Elvis was 24, got married in 1967. Soon after, they discovered she was pregnant with their daughter, Lisa Marie, who sadly passed away in 2023.

During their relationship, which ended in 1973, Elvis often cheated on Priscilla.

Ironically, however, he became furious when she eventually left him after having an affair with her karate instructor, Mike Stone, whom she met in 1972.

Lisa Marie was the couple's only child together, born in 1968. After her birth, the 'Hound Dog' singer made it abundantly clear how he felt about physical intimacy with his wife, now the mother of his child.

In her new memoir titled Softly, As I Leave You, released today (23 September), 80-year-old Priscilla revealed: "Elvis lost sexual interest in me after Lisa was born."

She further explained that Elvis was 'never able to make love to a woman who had a child'.

Despite her efforts to entice him with alluring lingerie and makeup, 'nothing worked,' according to Priscilla. She added: "Elvis remained flirtatious and very affectionate with me, but that was all."

Elvis was also 'reluctant to have another child', with Priscilla writing: "After all, I got pregnant the first time we made love. His reluctance heightened my fears."

Priscilla, who never remarried after Elvis but had a child with screenwriter Marco Garibaldi in 1987, 10 years after Elvis' death in 1977, previously discussed their sex life in her 1985 book, Elvis and Me, which inspired the 2023 Sofia Coppola film, Priscilla.

They eventually had intercourse several months after Lisa Marie’s birth, with Priscilla recalling: "Before we made love, he told me I was now a young mother, that being the mother of his child was very special. But I wrote in my diary, 'I am beginning to doubt my own sexuality as a woman. My physical and emotional needs were unmet.'"

Facing the challenges of motherhood at 22, along with the loneliness and anxiety from her husband's rejection, Priscilla wrote in her new memoir: "I felt like I was, as the song goes, caught in a trap with no way out.

"It's no surprise I became involved in an affair with my karate instructor, Mike Stone."
